Kimm Walton is the author of "Guerilla Tactics for Getting the Legal Job of Your Dreams," and a PAD alumna.

Following is her answer to the question of what should guide my course selection for my 2L and 3L years?

If you have an idea of what you want to go into, of course that’s your prime guide. You should also think of talking with alums from your school – you can find them through career services – and ask them what they’d advise that you take, depending on what kind of job you’d like to pursue after graduation.

And you know, on top of that, if you have a professor who’s really renowned for something, even if you don’t think you’re that interested in that topic, why not take it? Taking something out of your immediate goals may spark your interest in something you’d never have dreamed of doing otherwise. And if the professor in question is known for being gifted, it’s an opportunity you shouldn’t pass up.
